British Fashion Awards 2012 nominees: a French is selected!

The British Fashion Council released yesterday from The Savoy Hote the shortlisted nominees for the British Fashion Awards 2012.It’s a major event, as it’s going to give us the next future of fashion industry. The full list is here, but one category is the most important to our minds:

First,  The New Establishment Award which highlights a particular movement in British fashion that is spreading all over the world. 3 creators are going to compete:

ERDEM, who already wonBFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund 2010. It’s important to see that Erdem Moralioglu was born in Canada: are we experiencing a kind of recognition of a certain British touch? Interesting as culture, as diaspora, widepreads, whatever your ID is…

Jonathan Saunders, already famous in any major player, who mixes a certain idea of British aristocracy to simplicity.

Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff (he’s FRENCH!!!) who are our favorite guys (not because there’s a frog, obviously) but because they embrace far more the surrounding world: nightlife and original scenery (clothes as a vector in a more global landscape), stories ” “We do not to have a signature but rather a handwriting. We like to tell stories in different ways.”They also share a certain idea of new feminism: LOVE what they said right here.

Congrats to all the nominees and well done Great Britain: so many foreigners to promote the British fashion: that’s elegant and efficient.
