Olivier Theyskens’ might well be the most New Yorker of all french designers. Following the very strict direction of the brand Theory – creating the boldest yet most corporate looks for Manhattan’s finest ladies – he continuously creates sharp silhouettes graphically sustained by the strong statement made in the restrictive black and white code of color.
Next summer does not get any brighter in the offices, but somehow day and night are really not the same. Days are not so grim as business news would suggest, so Theory invites corporate queens to take a breath with some more laid back designs such as this excellent grey dress that’s all but the idea of disheveled hair applied to a strict dress. At night, Theyskens does not deny a hint at luxury and pleasures, but insists more on serious sexiness.
Business has never been so glamorous.
