The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has just launched a great programme called “Japan: fascinating diversity”.
The principle is very simple: the people of Japan are continuing their tireless reconstruction efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11, 2011, which devastated the Tohoku region of northeastern Japan.
The episode “Kawai: Inside Japanese Pop Culture” is very interesting, as you can follow Sputniko! in a nice journey, from designers, to models. We learn a lot about readers-models, non-professional young who are spotted by magazines and then asked to go on a catwalk. A more accomplished Grazia fashion police, so to say!
It’s really worth spending some time watching that, if you want to know a bit more about Kawai and Japan.
